In a powerful address at the "Haindava Shankharavam" organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad near Kesarapalli, Vijayawada, Shiva Swamiji of Shaiva Peetham highlighted the revered status of the cow in Sanatana Dharma, emphasizing its significance as the "mother of the universe" – "Gavo Vishwasya Matarah." Drawing from the Vedic texts, he noted that the cow is mentioned 1,331 times and explained its divine manifestation as Kamadhenu during the churning of the ocean, which later took the form of Gomata on Earth.
Swamiji expressed his deep concern over the slaughter of cows from Srikakulam to Chennai, stressing the need for urgent action to protect this sacred animal. He also criticized the challenges faced by cow protectors, often subjected to false charges, and called for a collective resolution to declare the cow as a national symbol. Furthermore, he advocated for the vision of an Akhand Bharat, a unified India, underscoring that every Hindu temple in the country was built by generous donors and must be preserved.
Joining the nationwide movement for the autonomy of Hindu temples, Mysuru Datta Peetham head, Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji, emphasized the ancient and divine nature of Hindu culture, which spans 5,120 years. He pointed out that even foreigners recognize India as a sacred land, blessed with sacred rivers, mountains, and divine energies, making it the land of God's incarnations. Swamiji proclaimed that being born in India is a great fortune and expressed his desire for the call of Sanatana Dharma to spread far and wide.
He urged the Hindu community to push for self-governance of their religious practices and temples, emphasizing that the protection of Hindu temples is a collective responsibility. As part of the larger movement, he blessed the gathering and called on Lord Dattatreya to fulfill their aspirations, expressing hope that the resolution for temple autonomy would echo across the country for decades.
